Its 17 objectives take into account the levels of development of the countries and respect national policies and priorities.
The Prevention of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is also a prioritized program of the Cuban State and Government. Our country marks a milestone in the development of the Public Health sector as a guarantee for the well-being of Cubans, which is why it is recognized for its achievements in the prevention and treatment of HIV; It is also considered the first country to eradicate mother-to-child transmission.
The Health Promotion Campaigns, the interdisciplinary work of the professionals of the sector and the education in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, contribute to ensure the future of the nation, avoiding the increase of patients with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
Ensuring the sustainability of prioritized programs and the life of patients is a premise for the country's authorities. However, our health does not only depend on policies and strategies, in fact, we are responsible. Our behavior goes beyond sustainable development goals by 2030 ... we must feel daily the need to be alive and healthy, and we must fight for it.
