Fidel González Dorado was born on July 26, 1957, in San Antonio de los Baños. His parents, Raul and Esther, educated him in the love for the Homeland and our martyrs. Since childhood, he felt a great attraction for world research, so he visited and studied the caves of the municipality. Thus began his love for the Ariguanabo carsology.
During secondary education, he held some responsibilities in the Federation of Middle School Students. When he finished the 10th grade he joined the Second Contingent of the Manuel Ascunce Domenech Pedagogical Detachment in the specialty of Geography.
For five years, together with his teachers and classmates, he studied this important natural science, participating in various activities that marked his life. Since graduation, he worked as a professor and head of Department, with satisfactory work results. He attended the Faculty of Training with excellent qualifications. For several school years he was selected as an Exemplary Educator. He reached the Master's Degree in Geography Teaching and the main category of Assistant Professor of Cuban Higher Education.
Fidel González Dorado carried out important missions within the Armed Forces, both in Cuba and in the People's Republic of Angola, for being a member of the Special Speleological Formations. Among its main publications are the tabloids of Geography of Cuba and ''Cuba: its regions and landscapes''. He did a great job as a teacher for the quality of his classes, and in the research of the Carsology of the province of Artemisa. At the time of his death he was working as a professor in the Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Artemisa.
