The Base Business Unit (UEB) for the Recovery of Raw Materials in San Antonio de los Baños shows positive results at the end of the first half of 2019. Of the fourteen products to be recycled, eleven of them were over-fulfilled in that period. The recovery of products such as copper and steel were insufficient.
According to Rolando Morales, director of the UEB in Ariguanabo, the Embalse Textil stands out significantly in the substitution of imports, with more than 1410 bags -reusable items in agriculture. The UEB also over-complies with the bronze, iron and aluminum plan, thanks to the experiment carried out from May 3 to June 30, with the price increase. This allowed to eradicate the deficit in the recovery of these products. Rolando Morales added that they have also exceeded the accumulated waste of glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, textiles and bronze.
