What will I study? This is the question of ninth grade adolescents when they must decide what to study. Hence the need to carry out a successful vocational training, which allows the student to decide on the desired specialty.
Vocational training and professional guidance are priorities for students, teachers and parents, committed to supporting the future of students.
The Pioneers Palace is the center of activities for the vocational training and professional guidance of children, from an early age; at the same time it is a space for healthy fun, which didactically gratifies their recreational needs.
In the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños, province of Artemisa; the Pioneers Palace has 433 students, belonging to different circles of interest (46 specialties). Its common objective is to transmit knowledge and encourage young people interested in a certain profession. Among these: Veterinary, Urban Agriculture, Tobacco, Pedagogy, Community Recreation, Textile Apparel and Computing, which will contribute to respond to the labor needs of the territory.
The activity called '' Open doors '', which takes place in production and service centers, and the exchange with workers, retirees and specialists, are part of the complementary program of the Palace. But the priority of the 2018-2019 course is the pedagogical preparation of secondary school students, with the purpose of increasing enrollment in teacher training centers and thus contribute to eliminate the deficit of educators in the territory, said María Eugenia Socarrás Estupiñán , director of the Palace.
Children and adolescents arrive at their Palace, motivated to receive a vital subject: vocational training; one of the challenges of Cuban teaching. It is everyone's job to encourage new generations to opt for social recognition trades. To work systematically, to involve teachers and specialists and to summon the family and community organizations; That is the secret to achieve effective vocational training.
