Health authorities in San Antonio de los Baños work to reduce cases of Hepatitis C. This disease can be detected, but efforts must be joined to establish strategies for prevention, treatment and control, as a sanitary international call to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by this condition that affects millions of people.
Hepatitis is an inflammatory disease that affects the liver. Its cause can be infectious (viral, bacterial), immune (by autoantibodies, autoimmune hepatitis) or toxic (by alcohol, poisons or drugs). It is also considered, depending on its etiology, a sexually transmitted disease. At the family doctor's offices or the polyclinics, the disease is detected by carrying out laboratory tests and through pre-employment checks
The results indicate that Cuba is getting closer to meeting the goal set by the WHO World Health Organization by 2030: viruses B and C cease to be a threat to health.
