The cultural institutions in San Antonio de los Baños are preparing activities for the Ariguanabense Culture Week, to be held from September 17 to 23.
The activity ''Por el equilibrio del mundo'' organized by the Bosque Martiano of Ariguanabo will take place on September 18 at 9 am at the Casa de Cultura. The institution will also show an audiovisual on the 25th anniversary of its creation, belonging to the José Martí Cultural Society. This activity will take place at the Amado Fonseca school at 10 am.
On September 19 at 10 am, the Casa de Cultura will host the Nora Lloró Traditions Festival, in which plastic artists illustrate with their works the tenths written by the repentistas. The Repentismo Festival will take place that same day at 2 pm at the Taberna del Tío Cabrera. The Círculo de Artesanos theater hall will host the tribute to Rodolfo Chacón at 8 pm. The Eduardo Abela Visual Arts Center will host the Craft Workshop at 8:30 am and the activity "Encuentro con el arte" at 6 pm. The Julio Rosa library moves to the Julio Pérez primary school to teach the pioneers the theme ''The library and an environmentalist culture''.
The Museum of Humor will inaugurate several exibitions: ''Para hacerse el loco'' and another collective entitled ''La Ubre'' and ''Al César lo que es del César''. In addition, the sixth National Youth Humor Fair ''El Loquito'' will be inaugurated and awarded at 4:30 pm and will direct the activity ''A favor de la Memoria'' on September 20 at 10 am, at Humor Park.
Two exhibitions will be inaugurated as part of the Ariguanabense Culture Week. Osiel Rodríguez Mesa, specialist of the Provincial Center of Visual Arts Eduardo Abela, explained that the two exhibitions are composed of works made with the technique of abstract painting. The young Idán Ferrás, graduate from the Eduardo Abela Academy, appears with the title ''Abstract painting in Cuba'', as one of the representative creators of this trend of the plastic arts.
The other exhibition belongs to Rolando Galindo, from Artemisa, also a graduate from the Eduardo Abela Academy, who has ventured into other genres and themes such as landscape painting, conceptual art, installations and performance. Galindo is in charge of the Plastic Arts Section at the Provincial Directorate of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS).
