The Ivan Portuondo Territorial Blood Bank located in the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños met the indexes of blood donations at the end of August. The work of the family doctor's offices, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), the work centers and the blood bank allowed the municipality to deliver the 100 blood bags during the month of August.
The other eight territories of the province of Artemisa exceeded the plan by 108.9 percent (831 bags), as reported by Ileana Fernandez Lopez, in charge of Statistics. According to the plasma parameters, good results are expected for subsequent deliveries to the medical-pharmaceutical industry and hospital centers in the province.
The Iván Portuondo Blood Bank provides -in time and with quality- the blood components for various treatments put into practice by the Public Health sector. Likewise, the institution obtains national recognitions and licenses that allow it to send blood donations to the Blood Products Plant.
