The ''Bosque Martiano del Ariguanabo'' (Ariguanabo Martí Forest), an emblematic site dedicated to José Martí in San Antonio de los Baños, is being reconstructed, specifically the area that represents the route taken by the Apostle and Máximo Gómez, from Playitas to Dos Ríos.
The symbolic trajectory has been facing the weather conditions for about twenty years; as a consequence, the wood began to deteriorate. Its creator, Rafael Rodríguez Ortiz (Felo) together with a group of workers of the Lázaro Peña Enterprise, undertook the reconstruction. This forest is the only one of its kind in the country, so its conservation and care is essential "-says Rodríguez Ortiz.
Every day, the sound of La Demajagua Bell and the cry of ¡Viva Cuba Libre! is heard in the Ariguanabo Martí Forest, because Felo, despite the years, maintains the tradition while raising the machete. Felo's words, dedicated to the young workers, showed his eternal gratitude, and highlighted their only interest: to be useful and worthy.
