Education is a social phenomenon, as a result of the historical development achieved at a given time. This socializing process has a marked influence on the formation of man throughout his life.
Education is the means that human beings have to prepare fully, according to the society in which they live and develop, with the aim of contributing to their development and improvement. The essential nucleus of that formation must be moral values.
José Martí wrote: "To educate is to deposit in every man the whole of human work preceding him; it is to make every man the totality of the living world, up to the day he lives; it is to place him at the level of his time, so that he may float above it, and not leave him below his time, so that he will be unable to keep afloat; it is to prepare the man for life.''
But .... Who are the ones in charge of educating? How is this training process achieved? Who influences more, the school or the family? It The raison d'être of educators is precisely the transformation of students' personality. However, the problem is not personal transformation, but the cohesion that must be achieved between family, school and society.
It is still believed that the school is responsible for teaching everything, but it is not completely true. The school has professionals with the necessary preparation for the learning and education of children and young people, using different variants inside and outside the teaching process.
As everyone knows, the family environment is the essential space for the development of their sense of identity and belonging. The family should be in charge of showing the first signs of good habits and education. Actually, it is not so important who plays a preponderant role in the process of values formation, but rather that the family and the school perform their functions; that is their task and social challenge: the future of our children.
