The Provincial Directorate of Culture in Artemisa and the Eduardo Abela Provincial Center of Visual Arts, call for the XIII Biennial of Photography 2018. All photographers who live or work in Artemisa, Mayabeque, Havana, Pinar del Río, Matanzas and Isla de la Juventud may compete, with a free theme from a contemporary view of art.
Each participant can send up to 4 works (individual photos, series, or sets, photo essays or installations). Slides are not accepted. The largest size of the assemblies is 2 square meters. The series or photographic sets can have up to eight pieces. The size of the photographs should not exceed 60 X 80 cm. Those works that exceed this dimension must be properly assembled.
The works must not have been awarded in other events. On the reverse, participants must specify the following information: title and order number conceived, in the case of series or sets; name and surnames, identity card, address, telephone number, technique and size of the work.
The images of the works must be submitted in digital format, to be used in promotional actions. The deadline for admission is June 28, 2018. Specialists of the Fototeca de Cuba and art critics will award three prizes and the mentions that the jury considers. Other institutions will also award prizes. The awarded works will remain for a period of time in the Eduardo Abela Provincial Art Center, to be used in different exhibitions.
