The name of Lieutenant Colonel Miguel Vigueras Fajardo, of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba (FAR), distinguishes the Base Association 01-07 of the Combatants of the Cuban Revolution from the Urban West Popular Council in the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños, province of Artemisa.
Upon the establishment of the Revolutionary Government, Miguel joins the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR). He studied at the Basic School of Revolutionary Instruction and was a founding member of the National Revolutionary Militias; he also participated in the National Literacy Campaign.
Miguel Vigueras Fajardo is a source of motivation and teaching; he is an example of consecration and a sense of belonging. His qualities and constant academic improvement, facilitated his professional performance at the Basic School of Revolutionary Instruction in Morón, and as deputy director of the Provincial Party Center "Patricio Lumumba" in Camagüey.
In 1966, he went to live in Havana, and began to work as a professor at the School of the Young Communists League (UJC) "Fulgencio Oroz", in San Francisco de Paula, until March 1968, when he joined the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), where he held different responsibilities as a battalion political instructor.
From 1969, he lived in San Antonio de los Baños for the rest of his life. In this municipality he joined the ranks of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and was linked to the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) military academy, ''General Antonio Maceo Escuela Interarmas''.
For his conduct and relevant merits, Lieutenant Colonel Miguel Vigueras Fajardo deserved the medals: ''Ignacio Agramonte'', ''30th Anniversary of the FAR'' and ''Literacy''; the Distinctions: ''10 and 15 years of service in the FAR'',''20 years of teaching-educational work '' and the medal ''20th Anniversary of the Engineering Troops''.
