On April 10, 1961, the first children's daycare centers were created in Havana, an experience that was gradually extended throughout the country. But, where does the idea come from ?, at the founding ceremony of the Federation of Cuban Women, on August 23, 1960. Commander in Chief Fidel Castro expresses the need to create new types of institutions for the care of the working mothers' children.
Fifty-seven years after Fidel's idea was materialized, there have been many transformations, such as the elaboration of pedagogical programs, the training of educators, who offer time, commitment and dedication for the development of infants. This is the stage of life where the personality of the child is decisively determined. The formation of a harmonious and fully developed personality will depend to a large extent on how the student is educated.
Today marks the 57th anniversary of the creation of the daycare centers. San Antonio de los Baños was present at the celebrations.
