The banking system in Cuba works to expand its services and contribute to the updating of the economic model along with the current transformations. San Antonio de los Baños's Commerce and Credit Bank offers various services and management to the population.
According to Nadia Ramos Gutiérrez, director of BANDEC, one of the services of the institution consists of providing credits to self-employed workers. Within this process, verifications are carried out, including the review of sworn statements, identification documents and the taxpayer's certificate, with the objective that the loan is fulfilled according to the income and expenses of the legal entity that requests it. Another service is the delivery of credits for the purchase of construction materials and for the payment of labor. There are also different modalities for the opening of accounts, according to the interests of the clients, whether they are ordinary savings, fixed term or fund formation.
Ramos Gutiérrez added that the BANDEC Virtual Service enables customers to carry out transactions without resorting to the bank, as well as the transfer of funds from companies, the consultation of the available balance account, the payment of taxes, the request for checks and other operations. Regarding the use of the Tránfer Móvil, (application for cell phones), the official said that customers can check and transfer balance, pay the phone and electricity bills, with the only condition of having a phone card issued at the bank.
