One of the main tasks carried out by the Directorate of Education in San Antonio de los Baños is the process of recruiting young people who wish to study pedagogical careers. This process ensures the training of professionals who will guarantee the continuity of education in the territory during the next years.
According to the director of the sector in the municipality, Mileidis Pérez López, the recruitment process is carried out in secondary schools, specifically ninth grade. Students interested in continuing their studies at the Abel Santamaría Pedagogical School, in the municipality of Bauta, must have 80 points as the academic average, the educational component (integral evaluation of the student) within the categories of Good or Very Good and of course have a disposition to be teachers of Special Education, Primary, Preschool and English.
Pérez López referred to a new modality that will begin in Artemisa, in the Manuel Ascunce Domenech center, related to artistic specialties. This option is included in the ninth grade Middle Technician mode. Here teachers of Plastic Education and Music Education will be trained for primary education. Musical and Dance Education, Visual and Theatrical Education for Basic High School. Those interested in enrolling must take aptitude tests. The career of art instructors will be for students who have completed the twelfth grade.
On the other hand, the official referred to the so-called University College. The students who will soon finish the 12th grade at the Batalla del Jigüe Institute, will be able to enroll in the Municipal University Center in different pedagogical courses offered by Artemisa University, except Computer Science and Labor Education. These careers are studied at the headquarters of the Alquízar municipality. The pre-registration will begin next week.
