Sexual intercourse is one of the most complex human behaviors, because it is difficult to face its consequences. In Cuba, the figures of people infected with HIV/AIDS are a really worrying fact, in my opinion it goes more to the preventive aspect than to any other factor associated with its transmission.
Organizations such as Education and Public Health throughout the year develop campaigns that allow people to become aware and have a level of knowledge about the realities of this epidemic. Talks, quick tests and consultations are some of the alternatives put into practice, however, prevention and risk perception remain far from humans.
We go to a party, we get drunk, we have sex with a person without protection ... and later we receive the sad news: we are carriers of a deadly disease; then we worry and do not accept living with such a global scourge, which we mistakenly associate with homosexual people, when it really affects men, women and children all over the world.
It is good to be aware and to dedicate a space to the topic, only to analyze annual, monthly and daily figures that increase the rate of people infected. Practicing protected sex or abstinence are good procedures in terms of prevention; It is not impossible, it is as simple as enjoying it.
Young people are vulnerable, there is the possibility of acquiring HIV / AIDS by any means we already know. It is time to act and leave behind the incorrect behaviors that only bring us worries, doubts and unforgettable moments. Do not be one of its victims.
