UJC militants, in coordination with the Party Municipal Committee and the University Student Federation (FEU) in San Antonio de los Baños, participated in the traditional March of the Torches to remember the 165th anniversary of José Martí's birth.
The march left from the Coppelia esplanade until arriving at the José Martí park. In the bust that immortalizes the Apostle, the university students, representing the ariguanabense youth, deposited a floral offering to pay tribute to the intellectual author of the Moncada.
During the tour the allegorical slogans to the Revolution prevailed, José Martí's verses were heard and the crowd of young people marched united like La Plata to the roots of the Andes.
The tribute was led by Jorge Luis Valle Portales, first secretary of the Party Municipal Committee, Edelmo Figueredo Rodríguez, deputy chief of the Council of the Municipal Administration, Yunaisi Méndez Benítez, secretary of the Young Communists League in the territory and José Carlos Tejeda, president of the University Student Federation.
The leaders ratified their confidence in the Revolution and left palpable their commitment to continue defending the legacy of the creator of the Cuban Revolutionary Party and the ideas of the centennial generation.
