The ethical repercussion of the example of these men and women constitutes a flag for the new generations of scientific researchers. On January 15, 1960, on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Speleological Society of Cuba, Fidel Castro stated: "The future of our country must necessarily be a future of men of science, a future of men of thought."

Fidel is also a man of science, as he was a participant in the creation of countless centers for the development of research in different fields of science, to which reference is made below:

- January 1960: Extension of hospital care to the most remote places in the country, with the Rural Social Medical Service. At the end of the 60's, the first National Health System was established, unique in America.

-From 1962 to 1963: More than 50 units of science and technology and many of the research institutions in the exact and natural, medical, technological, agricultural and social sciences, promoted by the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA).

- February 20, 1962, at the request of the Commander, the National Commission of the Cuban Academy of Sciences was created as an organization for the grouping, transformation and creation of research institutes.

-1962: Fidel inaugurated Victoria de Girón Institute of Basic and Preclinical Sciences, with the aim of training more doctors as a pressing need of the revolutionary process.

-1964: The Commander in Chief creates the National Center for Scientific Research (CENIC) with the aim of developing the biomedical sciences and chemistry.

-1969: The National Institute of Agricultural Health (CENSA) is created.

-1986: Creation of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) with a view to developing this branch of science throughout the country and creating institutions in other provinces.

-1990: Creation of the Center for Molecular Immunology (CIM), the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), the University of Computer Science (UCI), the Institute of Tropical Medicine (IPK), the Finlay Institute, the Institute of Investigations of the Food Industry (IIIA) and National Center for Biopreparation (BIOCEN). In addition, work begins with the scientific reserve.

Ignacio Ramonet, in his book "One Hundred Hours with Fidel", defines the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution as: "... a man who is fascinated by science, scientific research and medical progress (...) his ambition, a thousand repeated times, is to plant health and knowledge, medicine and education all over the planet. "

For this reason, Fidel was always linked to scientific development and to the advances that were taking place in this area worldwide. That is why, he became a promoter of the development of science in our country and in other regions of the world.
