San Antonio de los Baños has a vast development in the scientific sector. The Tobacco Research Institute and the Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants contribute with their achievements to the scientific and economic development of the municipality and enhance the name of the municipality due to its results.
In the Experimental Station of Medicinal Plants of San Antonio de los Baños psychiatric drugs are produced for commercialization in the pharmacy network of Artemisa province. On the other hand, the Tobacco Research Institute demonstrates its potential by obtaining internationally recognized high quality tobacco. The center was awarded seven provincial CITMA Awards and 37 scientific articles were presented for Cuba Tabaco magazine, as well as for other national and international journals.
San Antonio de los Baños maintains a recognized, productive and stable work within the scientific sector and has achievements that reaffirm the quality of the personnel of this branch, formed by the Cuban Revolution, returning to the nation the effort made in their formation, based on the results of the daily work.
