The delegate, a representative of the community

"(...) The basic cell of the entire structure of Cuban People's Power is the circumscription, its conception and functioning essentially converge in the delegate and represents the most legitimate and authentic contributions of our democratic system".

In each district a delegate is elected to the Municipal Assembly of People's Power. One of its responsibilities is the mission of processing the proposals made by the population.

But the true role of these men and women is to defend, feel and represent the people. Their functions go beyond those of government, since the delegate must also be a friend and confidant of his neighbors. In addition, as a popular leader he must know what happens around him, as well as guide and support his constituents. Being a delegate implies commitment, dedication and sacrifice on the part of those who stepped forward.

I believe that if the delegate of each constituency works to defend the moral values that the Revolution defends, works to improve the community and is an example to society, then he will be able to direct his work with quality. Only then, the delegate will earn the respect of all those who elected him as their worthy representative.
