In San Antonio de los Baños the production of food is a primary task. A prominent element within the 10 productive forms of the municipality is the presence of more than 190 young people in food production.
According to Mariolis Martínez Pérez, member of the Bureau of the Association of Small Farmers in San Antonio de los Baños, among these young people there are 28 women. Regarding the presence of women in the cooperative and peasant sector, this is an achievement, since many actions are taken to increase their incorporation into agricultural work.
The official also stressed that the grassroots organizations of the productive forms also have the presence of 9 young people in management positions. The most outstanding cooperatives in terms of the presence of young people in their workforce are Reinaldo Pérez, Camilo Cienfuegos and Jesús Menéndez.
Regarding the production of milk, the municipality highlights two young people: Ariel Méndez Sidrés and Yuniel González Paneque, who show the commitment and dedication to increase food production.
