In San Antonio de los Baños there are different institutions that promote culture among the Ariguanabenses. The Directorate of Culture is responsible for mapping the strategies so that each one of them fulfills its social mission.
According to Yixia González, director of Culture, in San Antonio de los Baños the cultural centers have libraries, workshops, art exhibitions, exhibitions, courses and other extension activities for the community. For example, the Marti del Ariguanabo Forest is in charge of spreading the life and work of our Apostle José Martí in direct contact with nature. In addition, this site is home to innumerable historical, political and cultural activities.
The official added that in the Eduardo Abela Art Gallery there are important municipal, provincial, national and international events, such as the International Biennial of Humor, The Havana Room, The Biennial of Photography, The Golden Age Room, and the Hall of Landscapes Reflections of a City. These events allow the presence of great personalities of culture and plastic arts in the institution.
On the other hand, museums play a primary role in spreading the history of the municipality. The Municipal Museum houses a series of objects, documents and pieces about the different historical moments of the Villa. The International Humor Museum has works by national and foreign authors that illustrate this theme in its different genres.
Other institutions, such as the Raymundo Valenzuela House of Culture, welcome local artists who unite in the different artistic manifestations such as dance, theater, music, painting and literature. They also play a fundamental role according to their profile, the International School of Film and Television and the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets.
The different cultural institutions of the municipality offer the people a range of activities and events to bring art to everyone.
