Havana, Cuba.- The jury of the National Sports Journalism Contest José González Barros, takes place at the headquarters of the Union of Journalists of Cuba, to choose the best works in different media.
Sigfredo Barros, Víctor Joaquín Ortega, Carlos Alberto González, Luis Alberto Izquierdo and Lizet Ricardo, among others, are some of the members of the jury. This edition of the contest, awards for the first time, the best press coverage in different journalistic genres. The contest will award the best five works without distinction of genres, according to the appreciation of the jury.
The provinces of Artemisa, La Habana, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, Ciego de Ávila, and Santiago de Cuba participate. Artemisa presents two works by journalists Osniel Velazco and Joel Mayor Lorán, both from the weekly El Artemiseño, in addition to the participation of Radio Ariguanabo sports commentator, Carlos Enrique Rodríguez González.
The award ceremony will take place on December 12 and 13 at the headquarters of the José Martí Journalism Institute, on the occasion of the National Seminar for sports journalists.
