The Technical-Professional Teaching has as a social role to guarantee the training of the qualified workforce needed by all sectors of the country's economy, to encourage the production of goods and services, in line with the updating of the Cuban economic model.
In San Antonio de los Baños students of these specialties are directly linked to work centers as a way to socialize their knowledge. According to the deputy director of the technical-professional education of the Batalla del Jigüe mixed center, Carmen Lidia García Arrieta, in recent years transformations have been carried out, aimed at giving prestige to this teaching and at raising the quality of the different processes developed.
The center currently has careers in Agriculture, Food Processing, Crafts and Beauty, Accounting, Librarianship, Human Capital Management and Sign Language Interpreter.
García Arrieta pointed out that the employment relationship is carried out in different centers such as the Hogar Materno and the Casa de los Abuelos. On the other hand, in the school they have a plot where the practices related to soil preparation and sowing are carried out, according to the characteristics of the crops.
The official also noted that the joint actions carried out include the adjoining classrooms, where the student interacts with the technology installed in the centers in order to develop professional skills, which constitute a vital space to raise the quality of learning.
