Taxpayers are those individuals with rights and obligations, who pay a percentage of their income to the State. In San Antonio de los Baños the number of taxpayers remained stable during the first half of the current year.
According to Maria Manuela Placeres, taxpayer assistance specialist at the Tax Administration Office (ONAT), the current number of taxpayers in the municipality amounts to more than 5,200, of which 5112 are natural persons. These people are the ones who make a profit from their personal work. On the other hand, almost a hundred are legal people; among these are the associations of several persons in an entity or a society.
The specialist also pointed out that 2149 are owners of vehicles for land transport, 2770 are self-employed, 173 belong to the artistic sector, 11 belong to foreign branches, 12 are boat owners and more than 170 are usufructuarious.
