Farmers reaffirm their commitment to increase agricultural production and contribute more to the development of a prosperous and sustainable socialism.
The president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in San Antonio de los Baños, Yereiny Guzman Herrera, reported that the cooperative and peasant sector has the task of reviewing the planning of contracted agricultural production.
The official also said that due to the effects caused by Hurricane Irma, the production lines with greater difficulties were checked; In addition, it was planned to increase short cycle crops.
Guzmán Herrera pointed out that each Board of Directors evaluates the re-contracting and the possible results to be obtained by 2018, taking into account the lines that substitute imports like milk, beef, beans and maize and ratified the farmers' commitment to transform the results productive, save resources, protect the environment and raise agricultural yields.
