The most prone place for the reproduction of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito is the house; for this reason, taking measures to prevent its proliferation is a task for the whole family.
After the discovery of this vector by the Cuban scientist Carlos J. Finlay, many opportunities were given to science in Cuba to carry out studies related to mosquitoes. Nowadays, Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya are the most common diseases, however we need to insist more on the perception of risk, because humans are the perfect target.
Since the triumph of the Revolution, the Anti-vector Campaign has helped to minimize its consequences through a group of actions such as fumigation, use of Abate and destruction of non-useful deposits. In addition, the Ministry of Public Health invests large amounts of money each year to acquire resources to combat mosquito proliferation; but a factor called "man" sometimes obviates how essential his contribution is.
Although there is an Anti-vector Campaign, citizens have the obligation to help and apply the necessary measures, in addition to cooperating during their visits and complying with the indications. Let us be responsible and remember -preventing the mosquito is better than fighting it.
