Law 113 of the Cuban Tax System, published in the Official Gazette on November 21, 2012, aims to establish the tributes, principles, rules and general procedures on which the Tax System of the Republic of Cuba is based on.
In San Antonio de los Baños, 2161 taxpayers are summoned to pay the taxes for the concepts of land transportation and boats ownership. Maria Manuela Placeres Pérez, taxpayer assistance specialist, said: "The voluntary period to pay taxes ends on September 30. Despite the delay of some ariguanabenses, the Tax Administration Office (ONAT) in the municipality expects its results are superior as the population has a greater tax culture and officials are better trained.''
Placeres Pérez insisted on those taxpayers who have not yet paid for these concepts. In case of non-compliance, surcharges and fines are applied within the established deadlines and conditions. Legal entities, owners of motor vehicles or animal traction (carretilleros) are obliged to comply with the liquidation to ensure the financial resources, public and basic services and socio-economic development.
