The Base Enterprise Unit for the Recovery of Raw Materials in San Antonio de los Baños is in charge of the recovery, processing and commercialization of materials and recyclable waste generated by the state and private sector.
The director of the entity, Rolando Morales Sánchez, reported that in the private sector 14 products are purchased and in the state sector, as established by law 12/88, all agencies and companies are obliged to deliver the raw material generated as part of the productive processes.
On the other hand, the official said: "More than 50 enterprises in the territory have contracts with the Unit. The recovery is at 30 percent, according to the plan established for the stage. At the ''Casa de Compra'', materials and wastes are received, including steel scrap, non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, etc.) and non-metallic (paper, cardboard, assorted bottles).''
The Enterprise complies with the delivery of all products; that’s why it is considered one of the best entities of the province. Morales Sánchez added that the Pioneers Movement "Recuperadores del Futuro" is one of the most important activities carried out by the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization in the educational centers of the municipality. It is also important to educate the population with the aim of recovering everything recyclable and intensifying the collection of products such as iron, wood, unusable motors and bottles.
