The Stomatological Clinic Raúl González Sánchez de San Antonio de los Baños provides primary and secondary care services. According to the deputy director of this center, Leidy Rosa Gonzalez, this is a process that has several edges.
The official says that the promotion is carried out through the work of technicians and professionals through visits to schools in the territory, where educational talks are held with school children about oral health and correct brushing of teeth. In addition, they apply fluoride lacquer for the prevention of tooth decay and free-drier diets are oriented.
The work of primary health care begins in the medical offices attended by stomatologists, where research is done in the population and the family card is made. Among the groups prioritized are pregnant women, mothers with children under one year, children under 19, diabetics, combatants and soldiers.
The deputy director said that after these actions the patients with some affectation are referred to the stomatologic clinic of the municipality where the medical history is made and consecutive consultations are started. If necessary, they are sent to secondary care services such as periodontics, orthodontics, endodontics, prostheses and maxillofacial surgery.
The clinic provides services to the population from Monday to Friday, from 8 to 21 hours, and Saturdays until 12 in the morning. In their areas they have the technical resources and the personnel trained to provide a quality service to the population. At present, due to material difficulties, they only work until five in the afternoon, an issue that will be resolved soon.
Emergency stomatologic services are also provided in Policlinico 1 for 24 hours. In the Division of La Ceiba, the Medical Office works to serve the population of this rural settlement. On the other hand, the old school Le Thi Rieng is dedicated to school services.
