Women and Family Orientation Houses (COMF), created in 1990 by Vilma Espín Guillois, are a meeting place to work, reflect, learn, share, recreate, receive guidance and help.
Cuban women occupy a high place in society, but there are still differentiating patterns on the roles corresponding to the different members of the family. In this place they find what is necessary for cultural improvement, guidance on issues concerning the teaching and care of children, contribution to the personal, legal, psychological, pedagogical and social development of women, as well as enhancing the responsibility of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), especially on community work.
Since its founding, the COMF has enabled thousands of people to initiate or improve themselves in various trades through the training programs offered to change the course of their lives, raise self-esteem, and value the immensity of the work, made for the benefit of women and the family.
