Woman: love, sacrifice and tenderness

Photo: InternetPhoto: Internet The 57th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) is an obligatory moment for the exalted commentary, which links the excellent presence and role of women in the work of the Revolution.

When talking about the Cuban woman, we can not only refer to her role as mother, wife or housewife. She goes beyond those tasks, which she assumes with decorum, simplicity, love, sacrifice and tenderness.

The Cuban woman, since the revolutionary triumph of 1959 and thanks to the unconditional support of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and Vilma Espín Guillot, was defended and represented. It is a glory to count on women on all fronts of society. Our women are strongly represented in science, sport, culture, defense of the motherland, education and public health.

The Constitution of the Republic of Cuba provides for equality of rights between women and men and any discrimination based on race, color, sex, national origin or religious belief is penalized. That is Revolution. Cuba plays a vanguard role in defending the constitutional rights of women. It was, therefore, the first country in the world to sign the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

Women deserve our respect. His presence inspires, comforts, encourages. It does not matter what mission they are assigned, whether they face challenges or adversity. The Cuban woman is made with the temperament of Mariana, Celia, Aideé and Vilma. For that and other reasons is that they give us a lesson of love and tenderness, from all fronts. At least that's my opinion.
