July 26 represents a very important date, because it marked the beginning of a new stage of struggle. For this reason, many actions are carried out in correspondence with the economic and social policy of the State, for the benefit of society and in salute to the anniversary. During the first half of the current year in Ariguanabo, favorable economic and social results were obtained.
According to René Hernández Hernández, general director of Economy in the territory, the economic results had a favorable behavior, with seven percent above planned. The main indicators were circulation and sales taxes on services, profits, personal income and the labor force of the budgeted and business sector.
Other important taxes were income from the territorial contribution, non-tributary of the budgeted and business sector, as well as income from operations, participation and general transfers. The latter are used in subsidies and in the local investment plan. When referring to the expenditure of the budgeted activity, it was stated that the entities, Central Municipal Insurance, Education, Culture and Sport and Public Health Unit were consolidated with 95.4 percent. The results of solvency benefit correspond to a total of 9 million 427 thousand 518 pesos.
Regarding social works, the bakery belonging to the community Raúl Hernández Vidal (Air Base) and the Livia Gouverneur elementary school are in the process of completion. The repair of sidewalks and fences at the entrance of the town, construction and restoration of stops, as well as garbage collectors solve the approaches made by people, said the manager. The "Combinado Baraguá" Productive Module guarantees the necessary construction materials. The Municipal Amphitheater will be repaired. The construction of the Municipal Library has already begun and later the capital repair will be carried out to the Provincial School of Art Eduardo Abela.
Maribel Bravo David, political and ideological of the Municipal Party Committee in San Antonio de los Baños, reported that several centers were highlighted for the work performed, the results obtained and the contribution to development. They are: Directorate of Education and Public Health, UBPC Batalla de las Guásimas, Tobaco Torcido, Chocolé, Lázaro Peña, the Slaughterhouse of Birds and the Office of Fines of the Council of the Municipal Administration.
