The life and work of Major General Antonio Maceo Grajales and Commander Ernesto Guevara de la Serna are evoked each year during the political-cultural galas, celebrating the births of the "Bronze Titan" and the "Heroic Guerrilla", always on June 14. The Cuban pioneers remember them very well, because that day was chosen to belong to the José Martí Pioneer Organization. The human greatness of both men deserve to be present for their fidelity to principles and for the love for which they gave their lives.
Encouraging the high values of these men makes them paradigms for the present and the future. The greatest tribute to Maceo and Che is the presence of their spirit on the daily actions of each Cuban. This means devoting ourselves to the strict fulfillment of duty, to the defense of the Revolution and Socialism.
Our children reaffirm their legacy, their thinking and their continuity in every task performed in each hour of study. Their solidarity is evidenced when they share the snack or lend a pencil or eraser, and the iron fist is present when their song rises against the enemy, remembering all the heroes and the blood spilled so that we all had access to human rights. Our children are the strongest and most faithful legacy of Maceo and Che.
