On March 21, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) celebrates World Poetry Day and invites us to reflect on the power of poetic language and the flowering of the creative capacities of each person.
The main objective of this action is to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression. World Poetry Day aims to consecrate the essential word and reflection on our time. This event, which strengthens the culture on the planet, is carried out in important world capitals such as Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and Bogota. In Europe it is called "Spring of the Poets" and in Colombia "The Common Presence of the Poets", to be instituted by the foundation with the same name, which has been working for two decades in the promotion of the poetic universe.
Poetry is a manifestation of diversity in dialogue, the free flow of ideas through word, creativity and innovation. It contributes to creative diversity by challenging the way we use words and our ways of perceiving and interpreting reality. Poetic language is another facet of dialogue among cultures. Phrases like -poetry are you- fill the hearts of love and hope.
