The environment is not only the space that surrounds us, but also what belongs to us; the place where we form our personality, with customs and values that may or may not change over the years. Sometimes we see those who throw garbage on the streets. Were not they taught at school or at home to take care of what surrounds them?
Education for health and culture of health are priorities in a municipality like San Antonio de los Baños, constantly affected by the vector Aedes Aegypti. Although we have perceived progress, preventive measures to avoid the diseases transmitted by this dangerous mosquito are never enough. I consider very important the work done in schools. Educating on the need to eliminate micro-dumps, to preserve walls and state properties, green areas and parks is very important not only to protect our health but to preserve the aesthetics of our people.
In the campaign against the vector Aedes Aegypti to prevent diseases such as Dengue and Zika, not only members of the campaign or the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology are responsible, but also the community. If we are all aware of the need to sanitize homes and surroundings, not to throw garbage in the streets, and to realize the family autofocal, the municipality can be kept out of danger.
