Faustina Dalia Barbón González was born in Alquízar, in March 1928. Graduated from Normalist Teacher in 1952, she works as a substitute educator in urban and rural schools in Alquízar and Güira de Melena.
With the revolutionary triumph she performs various tasks in her native municipality. Initiated the Literacy Campaign, she is rolled up in the Brigade Conrado Benítez. In Sagua de Tánamo, she develops a meritorious work. Faustina Dalia Barbón González works as a volunteer teacher in primary education, as well as in workshops and factories. When Ernesto Guevara (Che) creates the textile factory Rubén Martínez Villena, she dedicates herself to the training of his workers as a professor of Chemistry.
Faustina was president of the Council of Education of Alquízar until 1967. In the school course 1967-68, she simultaneously directs the schools Diego Hernández, Camilo Cienfuegos and Julio Valdés Collazo. Later Faustina Dalia is named Assistant Principal of Primary. In 1974, she works as a technical advisor of Spanish and Literature in San Antonio de los Baños, Güira de Melena and Alquízar. In the 1980s she worked in worker-peasant education.
When it is time to retire, she is still active in educational tasks. Deserving of different recognitions, her name is engraved in the educational history of Ariguanabo by the traces left in her students’ heart.
