Prize for a creative woman

Foto internetFoto internetThe Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forest Technicians (ACTAF), in the province of Artemisa, gave the prize for the creativity of women in rural areas, to Anayansi Cuellar González, director of the Tobacco Research Institute.

According to Zulenys Oliver, Secretary of Communication, the recognition was granted in the context of the Cuban Science Day. Cooperatives, Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC) of tobacco, outstanding workers and departments with excellent results in the scientific year were also distinguished.  ACTAF acknowledged Anayansi’s qualities and merits necessary for the prize, which is granted by the outstanding contribution of women to sustainable agricultural development.

The Master in Sciences and Research Assistant at the Institute praises the work of many women who have offered their service to improve the tobacco production chain and obtain superior results in each campaign, as well as varieties that are more resistant to climate, pests and diseases.

This award, given by the ACTAF, responds to some of the objectives of the association: to attend, motivate and encourage those involved in the development of an ecological and sustainable agriculture, in harmony with nature and society.
