The local bodies of People’s Power has been under the guidance and leadership of our undefeated Commander Fidel Castro during the last four decades. There have been many transformations in the communities, thanks to the support of the Government, delegates’ commitment, as well as the participation of the neighbors through the Integrated Community Work in the solution of some problems. The process of presenting accountability reports by municipal delegates to their constituents are extremely important meetings between the people and delegates that favor the well-being of those who make up each constituency.
In San Antonio de los Baños, these processes are carried out with the transparency required and the humility of those delegates elected for the first time who find a worthy way of approaching the people who expects his support. The assembly is an exercise in reflection on the needs and problems that exist, as well as a space for recognizing those who stand out in each task. The delegate must explain how much he has done to represent them before the People's Power.
This process of accountability takes place twice a year. It is defined as an exercise of popular government during which the simple act of raising one’s hand represents the will of citizens to express their opinions; that’s why, It is important to increase the participation of voters. If we are more of those who accompany the delegate, if we are more committed to the hygiene of the neighborhood or the fight against social indiscipline, we will undoubtedly be the ones who will support the work of Fidel who trusted the Cubans to constitute People's Power, a true example of democracy for the world.
