San Antonio de los Baños paid tribute to Maceo and internationalist fighters

Ariguanabo paid tribute to its martyrsAriguanabo paid tribute to its martyrs This December 7 Cuba paid tribute to the 120th anniversary of the death in combat of Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo and his assistant Panchito Gómez Toro and to the internationalist fighters who died on missions in different regions of the world, especially in the Republic of Angola. Currently, the mortal remains of Antonio Maceo and Grajales and his assistant rest at El Cacahual Mausoleum, where every year a military ceremony takes place.

In San Antonio de los Baños students, workers, representatives of the Government, Party and political and mass organizations made a pilgrimage to the local Cemetery. There, the people accompanied the combatants and families of those who died on internationalist military missions. Floral offerings were placed on the Pantheon that keeps the remains of the internationalist fighters. In addition, 21 salvo bullets were fired as is traditional to commemorate the Operation Tribute.

This tribute was organized with the support of the Party, the Council of the Municipal Administration and the Assembly of People's Power, from the headquarters of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, informed its president Fernando Pérez Rodríguez. Attending the event were Aliusha Álvarez Pino, Member of the Provincial Party Bureau in Artemisa, Jorge Luis Valle Portales, First Secretary of the Party in Ariguanabo, Yadelkis Hernández Morales, Vice President of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power and Yohandy Pérez Rodríguez, Chief of the Council of the Municipal Administration.
