While in the heroic city, Frank País, leader of the July 26 movement, prepared actions in support of the landing of the Granma Yacht, in the island other events were also organized to be carried out on the same day and thus disconcerting the government. In San Antonio de los Baños the young revolutionaries prepared for what would be a great event, but without knowing details of where or when they would occur. On November 26, members of the Youth Brigades gathered to receive new directions, including Conrado, Raúl Cartaya, José Llanes, Ubaldo Díaz (Ballín), Felix López, Eduardo Alpizar and Antonio Aguilar. They were advised to have the alcayatas and chains ready to cut off the electric power and execute sabotages in support to the future events.
On November 30, all the companions were quartered to carry out the planned actions. Conrado along with Eduardo Alpizar and Felix López Prendes cut off the electric power in Carrifero, San Antonio de los Baños and entered the town to fulfill the second objective: to throw Molotov cocktails to the garages ‘’El Mariano’’ and ‘’Los Tres Grandes’’, but suddenly the light turned on. Quirica and Pedro Leal had not fulfilled the mission of cutting off the electric power because Quirica had gotten drunk and Pedro Leal was so short that he did not have enough strength to pull the chain to cut off the energy, so the electricity company immediately replaced the power. In spite of this Conrado and his companions irrigated alcayatas and distributed propaganda against the government in support to the uprising in Santiago of Cuba on November 30th, 1956.
