Full Honors for the Eternal Comandante

Ceremonial GuardCeremonial Guard At 8 am on this Monday, in the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces’ Granma Hall, the senior leaders of the Revolution performed an honor guard to Comandante en Jefe of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz. In this intimate space, where the image of an immense Fidel raises, the Comandante's ashes will remain before being taken to the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.

After the voice Firm!, by the Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, a minute of silence began in honor of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution. Raul was the first to approach to the memorial and placed a white flower in front of the urn; later he signed the book containing the oath to be faithful to the concept of Revolution expressed by Comandante en Jefe Fidel, on May 1st, 2000.

Then the Comandantes of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez and Guillermo García Frías and other members of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee payed tribute to the leader; reaffirming their commitment to continuing the ideas of our Comandante.
