San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- A chess team from Ariguanabo will compete in the National Tournament of fast matches, to be held at the Habana Libre Hotel in the Cuban capital on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sport.
The FIDE Masters Wilver Vargas and Roberto Salgado, who will play in the first two boards, head the Ariguanabo’s team. Raydel Cruz and Mauricio Rodríguez, two athletes with provincial and national results, will also participate.
Artemisa will also compete in the tournament with a selection made up of Michel Coto, Jose Antonio Canina and Raynel Amaro and headed by Luis Lázaro Agüero. The objective of the Ariguanabenses and Artemiseños is to be placed among the first positions of the general classification, to contribute to their personal coefficients with ELO points.
In the specific case of Wilver Vargas, it should be noted that he joined the National Western Zone Tournament of conventional games, where he will seek to get one of the two tickets in dispute for the National Final representing our province.
