San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- The Municipal Sports Department in this municipality has an extensive program of activities to celebrate the Physical Culture and Sport's Day, next November 19.
With the premise that in our country, the sport is a right for all, the softball cup "Pepe Cartaya In Memoriam" is developed with the participation of five teams, representing different Ariguanabo's neighborhoods. At the same time, the volleyball tournament is played at Domingo Lence primary school, according to María del Carmen Valdés, municipal methodologist of physical community activity and mass events.
The specialist also adds that the Mega Football event took place at José María Pérez sports area last November 16. On the other hand, the Zonal Provincial Competition of Inclusive Football was held at Batalla del Jigüe Center.
San Antonio de los Baños hosted the provincial act for the celebration of the date at Julio Pérez stadium. There were present children from different popular councils and schools of the territory, pregnant women and members of grandparents’ circles, revealing that the practice of physical exercises contributes to the quality of life.
María del Carmen Valdés states that the manifestations of physical recreation and sports disciplines, as well as the gymnastic composition of Domingo Lence school and the animated slate of Julio Antonio Mella and Domingo Lence schools gave rhythm and color to the provincial act
She points out that among the guests stand out San Antonio de los Baños’ sports glories and clubs along with internationalist collaborators who highlighted the development of the Cuban revolutionary sport.
