A necessary step

How much respect and tolerance does the world need towards the human being, a society, a country and all nations, especially in the establishment of human relations?, so conflicts resulting from imposition of opinions, cultures and ideologies as well as wars and racism would end.

The manifestations of machismo still prevailing in today's society reveal the mediocrity of those who assume with insubstantial or retrograde criteria the non-acceptance of women’s values, their potentialities and protagonism throughout history in any of the society’s sectors. Specialists and art critics state that the actresses were always the most affected. For example, the excellent actress Mila Kunis expresses that she has lived moments in which she was "insulted, marginalized, underpaid, creatively ignored and underestimated, just because of being a woman.

Tolerance is a fundamental attitude based on respect for the other. A tolerant person can accept opinions or behaviors different from those established by his or her social environment or moral principles.

November 16 was instituted by the United Nations as the International Tolerance Day. This is one of many UN measures against intolerance. In 1995, to mark the year of the United Nations for Tolerance and the 125th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth, UNESCO created a prize to promote tolerance and non-violence. The UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize awards a scientific, artistic, cultural or communication activity that helps to promote this spirit. The prize was created by the generous donation of the Indian artist and diplomat and Goodwill Ambassador, Madanjeet Singh. The Federal Center of Research and Methodology for Tolerance, Psychology and Education (Center for Tolerance) of the Russian Federation will receive the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize, 2016.
