San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- Ariguanabo’s Municipal Department of Health remains active strategy against infectious diseases at all levels. Its priority: the preventive work from the family doctor’s office.
The infectious diseases are those caused by microorganisms or microbes including viruses, bacteria, fungi because of contact with a contagious external factor, points Yamilé Borrego, Head of medical services at Ariguanabo’s Municipal Department. The doctor stated that doctors and nurses carry out lectures, visits and exchanges with specialists taking into account prevention and healthy lifestyles proposals.
The Head of medical services insist that prevention is a provision in health from the appreciation of the risk factors with regard to infectious diseases. Some measures shoulb be taken to prevent or lessen the chances of getting sick. It is also essential the environmental higiene. Cooking utensils and food should carefully be washed to remove microorganisms. Yamilé recommended to consider hygiene measures, especially, washing hands.
