Assembly
San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- With the presence of the Cuban Flag, the coat of arms and with the encouragement of the recent celebration of the establishment of People's Power in Cuba, the assembly of accountability took place in the constituency 15 of the Urban Center People's Council in Ariguanabo .
Among the main concerns were: instability in the collection of solid waste, leaks of drinking and sewage water as well as the deterioration of the ‘’Cine Casino’’ affecting neighboring houses. Similarly: social indisciplines, proliferation of garbage dumps, abuse of social property, physical noises and breach of planning regulations.
To prevent proliferation of social indiscipline, two commissions were established in the neighborhood which will evaluate the solutions to approaches that do not require administrative intervention or state resources.
Direct exchange with the people is one of the most important moments of the Cuban political and institutional system. Graciela Pérez, Juana Cepeda, Roberto Rodríguez and Amarilys Guerra were recognized for their outstanding peformance concerning vector campaign, environmental sanitation and solidarity with those suffering from chronic diseases.
Mercedes Orozco Ibáñez, President of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in San Antonio de los Baños and Pedro Barrera, Vice President of the Municipal Administration attended the assembly. Directors of the administrative entities: ‘’Acueducto y alcantarillado’’ and ‘’Empresa eléctrica’’ were also present at the event.
Until December 15th, several meetings with neighborhs will take place in San Antonio de los Baños to find solutions to communities’ problems.
