At the end of the second month of 2016-2017 school year, San Antonio de los Baños is still working hard to ensure coverage of teachers in different teachings of the territory, said Rosa Maria Rivero, Director of the Municipal Education Department. From September, a new phase started to consolidate the adjustments implemented in 2013, when the school became the most important cultural center of the community. We talked with some executives of the municipal department on the progress of educational programs.
Situation of the territory...
The territory is working on finding alternatives to meet the shortage of teachers; that is why, employment contracts, reinstatement of teachers, specialists with partial contracts and participation of students from technical and vocational education have increased . This strategy aims to prioritize the implementation of programs with adherence to the quality of the educational process which helps to find solutions to complete the application, with emphasis on teacher training for preschool education.
Actions developed in primary education...
In this course primary education faces the challenge of raising teacher preparation. Since the beginning of the course, the control of the quality of learning was started. Cuba will participate in the comparative-explanatory regional study with other Spanish speakers in 2019. This exercise is conceived to control learning of subjects such as: Spanish Language, Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

No, the strategy was set last year and designed by the National Education System, taking into account the participation of the municipality and the center to ensure the results. The family must support the achievement with quality study in correspondence with the school. This is the objective of the methodological preparation and all grades are integrated.

The program includes cultural activities, attention to orchard and gardens and other actions and activities with art instructors. They are developed according to the particularities of each center in relation to the interest of the environment where the school is located. It contributes to the students’ learning development.
Secondary and high education in San Antonio de los Baños...
Saily Machado Jimenez, Head of the department of secondary and high education in Ariguanabo, stated: ‘’Cuba socialista’’ and the IPVCE ‘’Mártires de Humbolt 7’’ centers are the most prevalent. They have not yet begun to impart Mathematics and Physics (11th grade). In other schools alternatives are applied. The quality of the teaching process is observed from the control to teachers’ preparation, implementation of the evaluation system and compliance with all curricular activities.
