Personal income taxes increase municipal budgets. They contribute to promote various social projects in the community and different sectors such as education and public health, among others.
This issue has been reported by the Cuban mass media due to its great importance. Workers of state enterprises will begin to pay the Special Contribution to Social Security. Personal income tax will be applied to those who earn more than 2 500 pesos a month.
There are already several sectors, even within this system, where workers are paying the special contribution as compliance with the guideline 165 of the 6th Congress of the PCC, which was ratified in 137 of the Seventh. It will gradually increase the participation of people on social security and, therefore, reduce budget expenditures for this purpose. This is considered an act of solidarity and unity, thinking of the future and that we will also need the contribution is granted today.
