Today I will refer to one of the best strategists of the Cuban baseball, Salomé Enríquez Rolando Rodríguez although everyone in San Antonio de los Baños and Cuba knew him as "Rolando Cotico Enríquez ". This outstanding baseball manager was born on October 22th, 1931 in ‘’El Palenque’’, San Antonio de los Baños. "Cotico" was a baseball player of the team ‘’Círculo de Artesanos’’ in the 60s and 70s and manager of the selections from San Antonio de los Baños, Alquízar, Havana, Agropecuarios and Cuba.
He joined the team ‘’Cuba B’’ in Nicaragua and Spain as an assistant and has always been admired for his baseball skills and knowledge. The trajectory of Salome Enríquez Rolando Rodríguez is immense as director of baseball teams. In the previous program we talked of his presence in the selections of Havana and Agropecuarios in National Series and of San Antonio de los Baños and Alquízar in First Category Provincial Series.
Oustanding baseball coaches like Jose Miguel Pineda, Roberto Ledo and Jorge Fuentes have stressed the high baseball knowledge of "Cotico Enríquez’’ and his great capabilities to train his students. His death on December 7th, 1988 was a sensitive loss for Cuban baseball.
