San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- In the Urban East People's Council of this municipality sanitation actions will be held on October 1st due to the need to sanitize 40th Street, mainly the area near ‘’Las Yagrumas’’ Hotel. So it was announced by the promoter of this activity, Dessié Valdés Pérez, President of the Council.
The task involves voters of the constituencies 9, 10 and 41, who will receive the support of the Communal Enterprise, the Culture Directorate and ‘’Las Yagrumas’’ Hotel. It aims to beautify the area and create a garden to keep the area clean, due to the constant proliferation of garbage dumps that tarnish the aesthetics and threaten the health of residents, especially when the municipality carries out a vector control campaign due to the epidemiological situation.
Actions like this have exemplified the impact of the Integrated Community Work, one of the premises of the improvement system of People’s Power in Artemisa. Through the participation of voters in solving the problems, different areas of San Antonio de los Baños have been cleaned up, for example, one of the areas near the Ariguanabo River, where a mural was painted with ecological issues to eliminate the bad habit of accumulating solid waste in the area.
